Faith Formation and YDisciple (Grades K–12)

We understand the importance of training our children and youth “in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6), and we provide a variety of classes, programs, and opportunities for religious education at home, at church, and at our school. On this page you’ll find details about church-based programs for grades K–12, and you can access information about confirmations study on our Confirmation page. We also have a Homeschool page with materials for religious home-based learning.

Kindergarten through Grade 6

Our religious classes for elementary-aged children meet September through May on Sunday afternoons from 12:30–1:45 p.m. We also offer a Catholic Vacation Bible school one week in the summer. This year's Vacation Bible School will take place on June 26-30, 2017. Please see our News page for more information, and register online.

For children with special needs, we use an adaptive religious education program by Loyola Press called “Finding God.” A parent or older sibling accompanies each child for a family-oriented learning experience that can be replicated at home. This group meets every other Saturday from 9:30–10:30 a.m. The class for children with special needs is not meeting at this time. We will re-evaluate the need for this class in the fall.

Families who are unable to attend religion classes at the time provided by the parish have the option of using the home-based catechesis. Please contact Diana Wake in the parish office.

YDisciple

YDisciple is a post-confirmation catechesis program designed to mentor our St. Anthony youth to become stronger disciples through practical training, video studies, and activity sessions. Through this dynamic catechesis program, we reach out to youth by placing them in small groups of six to eight members, led by two parent mentors. YDisciple youth challenge and support one another as they grow closer to Christ and His Church in a small group environment.

We use a parent outreach model in developing our YDisciple groups. Parents work together with the parish coordinator to identify mentors and youth who will support one another during their discipleship journey. Each group meets at a time that best fits the schedule of the group members.

To join as a youth participant, or to receive training as a parent mentor, please contact our YDisciple parish coordinator, Mike D’Argenio. You can also learn more about YDisciple by reviewing the information sheets (English or Spanish) on this page.

We hope you’ll participate with us in this journey of discipleship!
