Pastoral and Finance Councils
Our councils are made up of parishioners who have been elected by the parish or appointed by the pastor to serve. These councils are responsible for planning and making policies that affect individual ministries and the parish at large.
On this page, you’ll find information about the current council members and have access to reports and meeting minutes so you can stay well informed.
The Code of Canon Law (Canon 537) mandates parish finance councils in each parish. The role of the parish finance council is to assist and advise the pastor in overseeing and controlling the financial affairs of the parish, including any schools. The parish financial council is accountable to the pastor, who has the responsibility for final decisions. If the advice of the parish finance council is unanimous on a given matter, the pastor will give serious consideration to the recommendation. You can read more about the functions of the finance council in our Guidelines of Parish Finance Councils document.
